Real-world solutions, proven in practice

Vedia develops digital solutions and expert services together with companies, public-sector organisations and international project partners.

Our work ranges from production-ready digital platforms and practical customer implementations to pilots and European R&D&I projects in digital logistics, sustainable transport, intelligent mobility and circular economy.

Featured cases

DELV – Digitalising Finland’s vehicle recycling ecosystem

Together with Finnish Vehicle Recycling (Suomen Autokierrätys), Vedia has developed DELV – a national digital platform for Finland’s end-of-life vehicle recycling ecosystem.

DELV was launched into production in June 2024 and has since been continuously developed. The platform connects official waste operators and authorised treatment facilities and provides a common digital environment for vehicle recycling data, reporting, monitoring and analysis.

Today, all five official waste operators are integrated into DELV, with around 300 organisations and more than 6,000 users connected to the platform. More than 60,000 vehicles have been added to the system for vehicle-level analysis, reporting and monitoring.

DELV demonstrates how shared data, system integrations and digital services can connect an entire industry ecosystem and support more efficient circular economy processes.

Flowertrucks – eFTI and eCMR integration pilot

Vedia participated in a practical digital freight information pilot together with Flowertrucks, iToDEV and other project partners.

The Sitra-funded pilot focused on integrating electronic consignment notes (eCMR) and Vedia’s eFTI Platform with Flowertrucks’ existing information system.

Vedia was responsible for eFTI interoperability and provided the eFTI Platform for the pilot. The project progressed from technical and process definition to development, testing, piloting and documentation.

The pilot demonstrated how electronic freight information can be connected to an existing transport company’s digital environment without replacing the existing operational system.

The work was later extended to include eFTI Gate testing in collaboration with Fintraffic, supporting the wider development of interoperable digital freight information in Finland and Europe.

City of Vantaa – Managing fleet emissions with CVW

Vedia has collaborated with the City of Vantaa in reducing and managing vehicle fleet CO₂ emissions with the Clean Vehicles Wizard (CVW).

CVW provides organisations with an overall view of their vehicle fleet and supports emissions analysis, monitoring and reporting. Vehicle-level data can also be used to identify high-emission vehicles, support fleet renewal and plan future procurements.

The solution was originally developed together with public-sector pilot organisations to respond to the growing need for better vehicle data and to support the implementation of the EU Clean Vehicles Directive.

The collaboration with Vantaa is one example of how digital tools and reliable vehicle data can support more sustainable public-sector transport and fleet management.

Selected European and national projects

Vedia has participated in numerous national and European research, development and innovation projects in different roles – from technical development and piloting to project coordination, data architecture and expert work.

FEDeRATED

A major European digital logistics and data-sharing project focused on interoperable and federated freight information exchange.

Vedia’s work in FEDeRATED has also provided a foundation for the company’s later eFTI Platform and digital freight development.

eFTI4EU

A European project supporting the implementation of electronic Freight Transport Information and the development of interoperable authority-side eFTI systems.

Vedia has supported Traficom as an eFTI project consultant and contributed to the eFTI4EU project through coordination, architecture development, interoperability work, testing and the development of the European eFTI reference implementation.

eFTI4ALL

A European eFTI project extending implementation towards economic operators, eFTI Platforms and additional EU Member States.

Vedia participates in the project as an eFTI Platform developer and uses pilots and testing to further develop interoperability with the European eFTI ecosystem.

5G DRIVE

An EU Horizon 2020 project that developed and piloted 5G-enabled automated driving solutions and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication.

5G ROUTES

A European project involving 5G field testing for connected automated mobility and logistics in a cross-border environment between Finland, Estonia and Latvia.

DiHaLoT – Digital and Managed Future of Logistics

A Sitra-funded project coordinated by Fintraffic together with Solita and Vedia.

The project explored the future of digital logistics through regulation mapping, a digital logistics demonstration and the preparation of a national Sounding Board model for dialogue between public authorities and the private sector.

The regulation analysis identified 51 regulations influencing the future development of logistics and freight transport.
